Being a Gift in the present

Posted on

I use to take waking up everyday for granted, but now when I wake up I thank God for the gift that wasn't promised: honestly I shouldn't have been here today. I been fighting for my life since before my birth. My mom had her tubes tied before she conceived me. I was born an hour before Halloween. (Some say that's why I act so much like the devil). I have been shot at. Held up at gun point. I have sleep apnea and ulcerative colitis. When I
Was younger I was in a bad car accident and only injury I got was the scar on my face. I could go on, but you get the point.

There is a reason I didn't die, and that's because I'm not here to live for me but to make difference. In the past 2 years I have been homeless, because I got discharged from the United States Air Force with less than two weeks to find a home. Luckily, we had family where my son and his mom could stay. I would stay over there from time to time, but most nights I slept in the car. I even got a gym membership at planet fitness just to take showers and lift to not think about the stressful times.

Thru all of that I smiled and would record music to hide the pain and to keep from crying. I may not be where I want to be, but I'm far from where use to be. I smile everyday now because I'm a perfect example of not giving up on ur dreams. Because I didn't give up, now I have record labels calling me. Now my music is getting the recognition it deserves. Now I don't fear failure because I been to the bottom and I'm not going back.

I said to say this you have a choice to struggle or be successful. It all starts with changing the way u think. Looking pass the very state u are in and seeing where u want to be. Once u have that goal in sight make a plan and stick to it. No matter what obstacle come ur way u never sway from the plan. It's not gone be easy, but the worth out weighs the work. If u have the will to stay focused.

Not to sound cliche, but anything is truly possible if u believe!!!

Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover

Posted on

I am the prime example of why you shouldn’t assume. People look at me and some think I’m a thug. I get judged because of my hair, because of my nose ring, because of how I dress, etc. I laugh at a lot of people, because they assume I’m incapable of having in intellectual conversation because of my appearance. I didn’t always look like this. I did serve in the United State’s Air Force for 6 years. Even in the military i was judge, because I wanted to go to school to do music.

I never let any of that get me down. I would just simply would prove people wrong. I read a lot and people don’t believe me. Until, I show them the best books are usually rough on the outside from being read so many times. It is not about what anyone looks like that defines them, but the person they are inside matters most.

Positive Vibes Only. Stop teaching children to hate and teach them to love. Don’t blame the youth for being corrupt. Blame the generations before them, for teaching them to hate to love and to love to hate. Lets  start over and get it right.

I’m glad we have people in this world like Ruso Milton. He let me shoot a commercial for his children’s book, because he understands that the children are the future.

Your Customer Is The Star: How To Make Millennials, Boomers and Everyone Else Love You

Posted on

optimized-maxW950-roozt-mindthegap2

I’m not even gone lie this is probably the hardest subject to talk about, but How do we really bridge the gap? Both the boomers and millennials think they are right about everything.  You job as a brand isn’t to prove one side wrong, but to make both sides feel good. Millennials is the best way to get the boomers to come around. Most boomers will do whatever  their millennial like to simply, because they want to always know what they are doing with their time.

You have to be able to balance between the two. Millennials  will not want to do anything that the boomers do too much of. So you have to be able mask the fact you are trying to push your brand on both. Look at it as if you are searching for a hotel when it comes to pushing your brand. You are not going to go anywhere that people won’t give a good review. Social media is based off of trends so in order to get a good review you must know what the millennials like.

Boomers never want to feel too old. When presenting your brand to them make sure present in a way they understand without insulting there intelligence. All and all, you must find that happy median. Boomers don’t want to feel dumb and old, and Millennials don’t want to feel old or childish, but everyone loves when it feel like they need it or hip/trendy.

The Social Scoop

It’s important to get your brand everywhere. Utilize every part of each social media community that you are apart of. People don’t want to feel as if your are promoting they want to believe in your brand. They don’t want to feel like all your social media is just a billboard.

I said this before in my other blogs, its a must that you know your target audience. You must make it where people just want to share your info for free. Social media is perfect for that because its just one big conversation. Good or bad talk about your brand is good as long as it brings traffic to your brands social sites. People love to follow trends so they will look more at how many comments are said rather than what is being said. They will look at the views before they even press play.

Treat your promotion like a person you are attracted to, because you will do anything to get that persons attention. You have to be appealing to the eye, and more importantly you have to spend time building it. Dedicate hours to making sure your brand feel special, and every person that contact with it will know how special it really is. They will begin to walkabout it more and more.

Social media is all about relevancy. People will most likely only remember the very last thing they see. So you have to make sure your brand is being represented adequately at all times.  For more techniques make sure you watch the video below.

Instagram Hacks

Posted on Updated on

I admit before reading IG Hacks blog https://www.power-social.com/5-instagram-hacks-youve-missing/ I practiced very bad IG habits. I usually post a pic with no hashtags or a video with too many hashtags. I did not realize the importance of  the hashtags and their placement.

First step to recovery is admitting there is a problem. Step  two is figure out how to correct what you have done. Well the IG Hack blog teaches you how to fix the IG problems. Hiding your hashtags is a great way to reach people  without actually showing them.  People gravitate to your profile when it doesn’t feel like one big commercial. So it s good practice to post your product and than post something funny or appealing to the eye.  People don’t watch commercials when they are watching live TV. So what would make you think they would want to read a million tags? I never thought about that until I the IG HACKS  blog.

You want to not dumb down your content, but make it easy enough for the majority or your target audience to read. Moral of the story for better results you have to make better moves. for more tips click on the pic below.

Growing up, I was always being told “Suck it up

it won’t get any better  any time soon”. In my head I always wondered “why not?”. Most people don’t understand how hard it was and still is growing up black in America. Why is it I have to teach my son the police where we from automatically think you’re a thug, just because of the way ur skin is? It is a battle that a child should not even have to worry about. Kids should be focusing on doing kid things. Such as, playing outside with other neighborhood kids without having to be judged because their appearance.

Why can’t we be judged by who we are rather than what we look like? It’s simple people forgot what it’s like to get to know each other. Trump doesn’t ever have to physically build a wall, because we are already separated by our own ignorance. I choose to dress how I dress to show people that they should never “judge a book by its cover”. Most people will never know i served 6yrs in the military. Most people don’t believe that I’m honor student in college. Most people think I’m a thug who does music to be cool, but i actually do it as a way to reach younger people. I reach them where they are at and teach them you can indeed be anything you want to be. I am living proof. I have been out the military for what will be 2 years on August 30, 2017, and the only job I have had has been doing my music.

I said all of that to say this give everyone a chance before you judge them. Stop the circle of ignorance, and teach kids to love each other, because our country’s tomorrow is a direct reflection of what we teach our kids TODAY!!!!

Diddy of My Time

Posted on Updated on

Sean “Diddy” Combs

Growing up all my heroes did one of two things, and thats play basketball or did music. I know typical story black kid with hoop dreams or dreams of being a rapper.
Ben Name

Contrary to what most believe it has always been about the love for music and wanting to put my own stamp on the game like 2Pac and Biggie did. Even still, as much as an impact they had I didn’t want to be like them. I always aspired to be like “Puff”, because Diddy was the mastermind behind it all. Diddy taught me thru his work don’t ever settle for just getting a deal, aspire be the one giving deals. Diddy made where you can’t even mention  hip- hop power moves without talking about him or someone he groomed for success.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OciO2MPnmzU (Click This video link because it is a perfect example of his impact. he is one of the only few people that can put this many superstars rappers on one song without breaking the bank.)

Diddy is one of the main reasons I’m going to be very successful at what I do. I will be able to open doors for others all because the work Diddy has done for 20 plus years. Its not about who remember you when you are around, but being unforgettable even after you take your very last breathe. So i don’t have time to worry about being forgotten about, because I’m too busy doing #2much to ensure that I will be unforgettable. “Ben Rich” will be the “Diddy of My Time”

Social Media is a Must Have

Posted on Updated on

After reading Phil Cooke’s chapter “Why Social Media Matters”. I began to think of why I believe social media is a must have in todays times.

Social media allows you to connect your brand with everyday people. Inviting them to have inside look to your brand, and it also lets you see what the people like. You are able to go thru a person world, and cater to them because you can study the things they like, share and repost. Social media is more than FACEBOOK, TWITTER, SNAPCHAT, INSTAGRAM, etc. They are just different outlets to people. Each social media entity are similar yet different tools, and the internet is the toolbox.  Social media helps people let their guards down, and begin to let people expose their vulnerable parts.

Use social media to your advantage. Study the things that people like and apply those things to your brand. Make the consumers feel as if they are family or one your closest friends. Everything you do must feel authentic. People do not follow people who they feel are not real. Never be to good to be true, but simply always be honest. in some cases, the fact that your brand has flaws make people want it more.

Understanding your target audience will always keep you a head of every trend. Once you find your target audience get the involved. interact with them and they will began to want to talk about your brand. The more people you can get engaged in conversations about your brand it will began to sell itself.

It is important to get your  brand on all social media, because not everyone uses FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, etc. A successful brand will always meet the people where they are at.
